Dr. Denise Crute is one of the most respected neurosurgeons in the industry today, for various reasons. Crute is an employee of the Illinois Neurological Institute, which is a leading Midwest institution for clinical care, research and education in neurological illness. Denise Crute also teaches as an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Rockford, Illinois. She specializes in neurotrauma, minimally invasive neurosurgery, and preventative medicine.
Graduating cum laude from Duke University in 1983, Denise Crute was able to make the Dean’s list and receive class honors from 1981 until her graduation in 1983—when she was awarded a Bachelor’s of Science in Zoology. In 1988 she graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, one of the most respected medical schools in the United States of America. She did her neurological training at Northwestern University Hospitals after graduating from UNC’s School of Medicine.
Dr. Crute is not just a medical surgeon and researcher, though. Nor are all of her pursuits purely academic. Dr. Denise Crute has volunteered in Central America frequently and even helped to establish the first neurosurgical program in Western Honduras. In addition to her philanthropy, Dr. Crute is a well-recognized artist and medical illustrator, whose works has been published several times.
